Scoil Teampall Toinne Ballyporeen Parent's Council Annual Table Quiz will be held on Saturday February 16th at O' Casey's Bar at 9 p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Raffle tickets are available for sale. Please detach the slip from the note your child got today and include the money and details in an envelope. Any voluntary donation towards the parents council can be given into the school in the same manner. Junior and Senior infants will receive their notes tomorrow. Raffle tickets and donations will be collected from the infants on Monday. Grandparents Day has been postponed until further notice due to the weather forecast. Children were very excited to arrive to a snow covered school today! 1st to 6th class had a wonderful morning as they got to play in the snow for a short while. Snow men were rapidly built as everyone throw or got hit by a snow ball or two. Great fun was had by everyone. Take a look at some of the pictures below... Reminder school closed at the earlier time of 2.20 p.m. today. Reminder Open night takes place on Wednesday January 23rd from 7p.m. We look forward to meeting all of the parents and students from our school. We are very grateful to everyone who has been involved in the organisation and predation for the open night also.
Junior Infants and 3rd/4th class have been very busy this week. They had great fun at GAA training. They were practicing core skills. Check out the pictures on our sports page. They also completed fantastic projects based on volcanoes. Check out the super video on our subject page also Happy New Year! We wish all the students and their families and healthy and happy new year. School re-opened today and it was fantastic to see all of the students return fresh for another term.
Our school open night will take place on January 23rd from 7 p.m. We invite all the current and prospective students with their families to visit our school that night. Last year's open night was a supper success and we hope that this year's one will be as enjoyable. The junior Infants went on a special journey to our local post Office. The infants posted wonderful letters to Santa Claus in the North Pole. Check out their pictures on the Christmas Festivities Page.
Special members of our local GAA visited our school today also. They displayed a number of cups, medals and shields which dedicated club members have won this year. Our fantastic senior girls were presented with their County Final Runner Up medals. All photos are posted on our sports page. Reminder to all that school finishes at 12 p.m. for 1st to 6th class. Infants can be collected at the slightly earlier time of 11.50 a.m. Children are invited to wear Christmas clothes to school tomorrow, a donation of €2 would be greatly appreciated by the Parent's Council. From all the staff at Scoil Teampall Toinne, we wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas! School will re-open on January 7th 2019. School Calendars will be available for collection from the school office on Monday December 17th.
School will close at 12 p.m. on Friday 21st of December. Infant classes can be collected from their door at 11.50 a.m. Children may wear festive clothing on the day of the holidays. In light of this, a €2 donation to the Parent’s Council would be greatly appreciated. The Christmas Fair last Sunday was a huge success. A large crowd gathered in the hall after mass for the crafts and cake sale. The event was a huge success, as all the crafts and cakes were rapidly sold. This morning our school hosted our annual 'Turning on the lights' Ceremony. Music was provided by fifth and sixth class as they played the tin whistles throughout the event. All of the children performed a variety of Christmas carols and hymns also. Our youngest student Aoibe and our oldest student Jack turned on the lights for us. Christmas Carol Service will take place on Sunday Dec. 9th at 7 p.m. Community Variety show will take place tonight at 8 p.m. On Thursday the 22nd of November the Under 13’s ladies football team travelled to Semple Stadium to take on Tankerstown NS in the county final. Lismore Primary Mobile Science workshop visited our school this week. All of the class got to experience and practice exhilarating experiments. Check out the STEM page to see all the photos of the excitement. Reminder that our annual Christmas Fair will take place this Sunday December 2nd. All contributions for the Parent's Council Cake Sale can to be delivered to the School hall from 10 a.m. on Sunday morning. The cake sale and Christmas market will be open in the School hall after mass on Sunday. The Christmas Market has wonderful crafts and decorations. Each craft has been masterfully created by the students of our school. Many thanks to Bridget O' Brien and all those who provided materials and assisted in the preparation of the crafts over the past week. We hope to see you all on Sunday. ![]() Many thanks to all the families who donated Christmas Boxes for the Team Hope Christmas shoe box appeal. Over one hundred boxes have been donated from our school. Many less fortunate children will receive a fabulous gift as a result of your kindness. Science week took place this week. The scientific spark in Scoil Teampall Toinne was well lit by 3rd and 4th's lava lamps, the infants investigations of materials and 1st and 2nd's discoveries about damp.
