Congratulations to all of the third class who made First Holy Communion last Sunday. The children were fantastic on the day, well done to everyone involved. Best wishes to all of the children making their Confirmation on Sunday in Ballyporeen also. Congratulations to the U12 ladies hurling team who won their sheild final last weekend. The girls visited our school on Wednesday afternoon. The senior class students were delighted to see their sheild and congratulate them. Well done to Úna and Amy Rose who played fantastically on the day. Congratulations also to all of the trainers and management of the team.

Hopefully they continue to enjoy their first few weeks in STT. Congratulations to all of the Junior Infants who started school in Scoil Teampall Toinne today. The junior infants settled in fantastically. They were energetic and full of enthusiasm for their first day of big school. Reminder the Junior Infants will finish school at the earlier time of 12.p.m until September 13th. On September 13th they will go home at the later time of 2.p.m. Well done to all of the other students who returned to school today also. All of the teachers were delighted to welcome you all back to school today.
Welcome to our new member of staff Ms. Costigan who is teaching senior infants this year. Everyone in Scoil Teampall Toinne wishes Ms. Costigan the very best of luck for her future in Ballyporeen. Welcome back to Ms O' Doherty also, who will be teaching first and second class until Mrs. Quinlan returns soon. The school will close tomorrow for our summer holidays. Children will finish at the earlier time of 12pm. We have had a lovely last week in school, we had our sports day, many classes visited the local playground, they got ice creams from an ice cream van and they visited Pat Russell's shop for ice cream as well. We were very lucky to have Conor Sweeney visit with the Munster cup also. Check out all of the pictures in the gallery.
Many thanks to all of the Junior Infant parents who visited our Infant induction evening last Friday after school. It was fabulous to meet the incoming infants and we hope your little children will get on terrifically in our school next year. :) Best of luck to both the Confirmation and Communion classes who hope to make their Confirmation and Communion on July 5th and 17th respectively. We hope the children and their families have wonderful days. Many thanks to our local priest Fr. Bobby, Seamus and Ali who will provide the music and all of the staff and families involved for their participation. Congratulations and best wishes to Ms. Nugent who is retiring this summer. Ms. Nugent has been an amazing teacher who has worked in Ballyporeen for many years. Her wealth of teaching experience and commitment to the school has been invaluable. From all of the staff and students in Scoil Teampall Toinne, we wish her every health and happiness in the future. Best wishes also to Ms. O' Doherty who has been teaching first class since Christmas. Ms O' Doherty has gotten on excellently in our school and we wish her all the best in the coming year. Many thanks to our students, staff, board of management, parents council and members of the community such as Seamus, Nancy, Joan and Rian who have generously given their time and hard work to help the children of our school. This year has been a challenging one for everyone and we hope that everyone has a safe and happy summer break. We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on August 26th 2021. All children from Juniors to Fifth class received their school calendar, book rental information and booklist for the next academic year this afternoon. Please check your child's school bag to make sure that you get all the aforementioned documents. Booklists, book rental and school calendar are also posted on our key information page on our website. February 1st-7th marked Children's Mental Health week, Ms. Duggan and the junior and senior infants celebrated the event with great enthusiasm. Each day they participated in significant activities which stimulated and promoted positive mental health and well being. Below are a few samples of the work they completed.
