Congratulations to all the students received Confirmation last week. Well done and many thanks to Fr. Flynn and Mr Molan for all his preparation of the children for the sacrament. We were delighted to receive a letter of receipt from Pieta House this week acknowledging the fantastic funds we raised from our “Pancakes & Pyjamas” Fundraiser. Well done to everyone involved in the fundraiser! Garda Station Visit1st & 2nd class visited Cahir Garda Station today. They children saw a number of interesting elements of the Garda station and the work that Gardaí do on a daily basis. The children saw a cell where prisoners are held. They saw the medical room in the station. They saw and rubbed the horses from the Garda Equine unit. They saw a Garda speed gun, a Garda car and they learned about all the weapons that are used in the Garda Armed Response Unit. After visiting the Garda Station, the children visited a playground where they relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine. Check out the photos below to spot some future members of the Garda Síochána.

Congratulations to Eva Heaphy and Aoibhe Maher who were selected for the Primary Game Hurling and football teams for the county during the week. We are very proud of the girls and we wish the girls every success in their upcoming matches.
Congratulations to the winners of the Library reading competition, the winners had read the most library books from our senior classes since the February midterm. Well done to Michael O’ Brien, Zoe Hyland, Billy Carey and Sadhbh O’ Farrell. Many thanks to all the grandparents who attended grandparents day today. U11 boys attended a blitz today. Well done to everyone involved.
Confirmation practice is ongoing as all the children prepare to receive the sacrament on May 2nd. Junior Infants have been enjoying Séamus’ visits to their class. ‘Baby Shark’ sounds great with the ukulele. First and second class carried out an experiment investigating how seeds grow in different types of solid. They also created robots and superheros as part of their engineering work for STEM. Grandparents day will take place on Friday 12th of April, Mass will begin at 11a.m. We'd love if everyone could stay for tea/coffee afterwards also. Congratulations to everyone involved in the fundraiser for Pieta House. Ms. Duggan along with our Amber flag committee and parents council organised a terrific breakfast morning. Every child loved wearing their pyjamas to school and sharing pancakes together.
In total we raised an amazing €298.40. This money will be used to help people in great need. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who generously donated. Reminder Grandparents Day will be held on April 12th. We'd love if the grandparents could attend. Congratulations to all the second class children who received the sacrament of First Penance last week. The children worked very hard in the lead up to the night and they were excellent during the service. Many thanks to Fr. Flynn for his continued support to the school. Congratulations to all of the staff and children in "Happy Days" Preschool and creche who provided us with terrific entertainment today. We really enjoyed supporting them in their St. Patrick's parade. The juniors, seniors, first and second classes cheered on the senior classes as they played the tin whistles and ukuleles. Thank you to all the parents who supported the children today also. Check out the photographs on the home page. Pancakes and Pyjamas for Pieta was a super success today. All the children enjoyed a trip to the hall where they were treated to warm pancakes and toppings of their choice.
Massive thank you to the Parents Council who went above and beyond for me, both today and leading up to the event. Always so lovely to see such support from the community and it is truly appreciated. Today also marked Tranquil Tuesday. Amidst the Pancake Party the children were encouraged to take some gentle breathing breaks throughout the day. It was lovely and calming. Check out all the pictures from today on our homepage. Congratulation to all the children in third and fourth class who recently completed the Boston Scientific Junior Achievement Programme. Many thanks to Mark McLoughlin, a parent and dedicated member of staff from Boston Scientific who organised and led the program in our school. Children had the pleasure of learning about working in an engineering environment.
Reminder to all parents and students that this is our Amber Flag awareness week. "Pancakes and Pyjamas for Pieta House" takes place tomorrow, all children are welcome to wear pjs or bright clothes in order to celebrate the fundraiser. The Amber Flag committee have organised a terrific array of activities for next week in order to promote Positive Mental Health.
Mindful Monday will kick off the week. Tranquil Tuesday will offer children a chance to practice relaxing breathing exercises. We will also celebrate Shrove Tuesday by hosting a fundraiser for Pieta House. “Pancakes and Pyjamas for Pieta House” The children are invited to wear pyjamas/dressing gown/slippers/bright clothing(whichever they feel most comfortable with!)The children will be brought to the school hall, where the parent’s council with the assistance of the Amber Flag committee will be serving up some delicious pancakes. We encourage all children to bring a small donation (we suggest 2 euro) for the cause with them on the day. All proceeds will be donated to Pieta House. If your child suffers from allergies, please inform the school. Think Kind Thoughts Thursday and Feel good Friday will continue our week’s celebration. We would be very greatly if you encourage your children to engage in the activities for the week. Hopefully everyone will enjoy the week. Keep an eye on our blog for photos of the week. Congratulations to Ms. Duggan who recently launched her Children’s Yoga classes. Ms. Duggan is a highly qualified yoga instructor whom has worked with multiple children over the years. We wish her all the best with her new venture. The children from 1st to 3rd class have been visiting taking a variety of books from the school library regularly. Well done to all the children for their fantastic efforts.
