In honour of the impending election tomorrow, children from 5th & 6th class held a mock election in school this week. Five candidates prepared manifestos, participated in a live debate and canvassed fellow students for votes.
Their agendas, thoughtful promises and hopes for the future were outstanding for children of such a young age. Their campaigns were tested and the candidates were put under pressure at the live debate which was held in the school hall yesterday. Students from the audience asked questions about the candidates manifestos and their future promises for our school and country. The vote was held early this morning and the winner was announced soon after. Congratulations to Aoibheann Geary who was elected as president from the vote. Congratulations to remaining candidates: Darragh Williams, Áine O' Sullivan, Jack Carey and Michael Quinlan. Each candidate presented an excellent campaign. Check out the Election 2020 page for videos and photos of the proceedings during the week. Reminder: School will be closed tomorrow for staff training.
