Today six wonderful children started in Junior Infants in STT. They were greeted by their teacher Ms. Duggan this morning. They enjoyed a wonderful first day. They played with the senior infants and they did a variety of activities. We wish them every success during their time in our school. Welcome back to all the other children in our school. We hope everyone has an enjoyable and successful school year ahead.

As another school year ends everyone at STT would like to say thank you to all the parents, families and members of the community who have supported our school so enthusiastically over the school year. We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer break and we look forward to seeing all the students return in September. Well done to the 5th and 6th class for their wonderful behaviour and dedication on their Greenway excursion earlier this week. The ice-cream van visited our school today. We all had a wonderful week with sports day and various fun activities. Congratulations to all the girls who defeated Aherlow in the U12 county final on Sunday. The final took place in Simple Stadium and the girls played superbly defeating Aherlow by 2 points at the final whistle.
Everyone in Scoil Teampall Toinne is extremely proud of the girls achievement. Well done to everyone involved! 1st and 2nd class travelled to Skeheenarinky for a Blitz and fun day yesterday. Skeheenarinky N.S. are celebrating their Active Schools week this week they kindly welcomed the STT children to participate in their week also. Everyone had a wonderful day! Thanks to Eddie Maher for assisting on the day. Thanks also to all the staff and students of Skeheenarinky N.S. for all their efforts and hard work. Third-Sixth class visited Ballyhass lakes today for their school tour. Take a look at the pictures on the school tours page. First-Second class had a teddy bears picnic today and they will travel to Lismore tomorrow for their school tour. Congratulations to all the students and Ms. Keating on their terrific STEM work. Reminder: Our school show will take place on Tuesday(June 18th) night at 7 p.m. We ask that all children arrive at 6.45 p.m. 3rd-6th class have their school tour on Wednesday. 1st-2nd class have their school tour on Thursday. Last Friday the Junior and Senior Infants visited Leahy's Open Farm for their school tour. They had a wonderful day exploring the farm. They had great fun playing with their classmates. Third and fourth class also went on an excursion this week. they travelled to Cahir to participate in a soccer tournament. The children played fantastically. The progressed to the semi-final of the competition. Well done to everyone involved. Check out some action shots from the tournament on the sports page. First and Second class planted some pea and tomato seeds this week. We hope they start to sprout before the summer break. ![]() Reminder: *Junior Infants will go home early at 1 p.m. on Thursday to accommodate the arrival of the incoming Junior Infants. *School will be closed on Friday May 24th as the school is used for a polling station for the European and Local Council Elections. *A note went home to all families today detailing upcoming important events in our school. This week has been very busy in our school. We will welcome our incoming Junior Infants into our school on Thursday. The parents and new pupils will meet with their teacher and see their classroom. We are all very excited to welcome them to our school over the next few months. Junior Infants learned about 'Dragon Rock' which Aoife kindly brought into school. Aoife was very lucky to visit Wexford some weekends ago and she returned with a precious piece of rock which she showed her class. Last weekend our second class received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The children were excellent on the day. They were well behaved and recited their prayers, reading and poem diligently. Well done to all of the children who received the sacrament. Furthermore, many thanks to Fr. Flynn, the parents and parish council for all their preparation and organisation for the day. Everyone in the school would also like to express immense gratitude to all the parents who supported the occasion by baking and volunteering on the day. First and second class visited the playground on Monday to soak up some sunshine and celebrate the second class receiving their First Holy Communion. Fifth and Sixth, along with the rest of the school auditioned for our School's Variety Show which will take place on Tuesday evening, June 18th. Every class will perform on the night with special individual and group acts performing also. Watch this space for the up and coming talent of Ballyporeen! Third and Fourth Class had a visit from a local Firefighter. They learned about the important work that the Fire Service carries out. They heard many stories of how dangers have been prevented and eradicated. The children also saw and investigated some of the equipment used by the Irish Fire Service. |
